I had been looking into a lift kit for my Jeep for quite some time, there were dozens of comapnies with some really good kits for the TJ. However, I was an occasional off-roader and a huge lift wasn't in the budget, thus I went looking for a 3" lift. Teraflex, Skyjacker and Rubicon Express were the three I was looking into. I finally went with was a Teraflex 3" kit. First, Teraflex was the first company I heard that made lift kits for the TJ went it first came out. Secondly, a Chrysler dealership, Capital Jeep, in the city was the distributor for Teraflex plus warranty would not be a problem. Finally the the service was great!
A special thanks to Ken at Capital Jeep for getting all the necessary stuff I needed.

This is what the 3T kits consists of 4 new coils, transfer case lower brackets, drop pitman arm, rear track bar bracket. I had looked into a few lift kits, but the Teraflex was the choice. I can say is I am very pleased with the product and the ride is very close to factory. One thing that surprised me was the kit also came with shocks, a big bonus!

The Install...
The install took a day, and was done by the service department at Capital Jeep. Ken, the Parts Manager, was very helpfully and got all the other stuff I needed for my install. The 3T kit itself, quick disco's, front shock adapters, oil plan skid plate, 1.25" front coil spacers (in case I put a winch or ARB bumper) it will balance out the Jeep, finally rear shock mount extenders!

Some much needed height...
31 x 10.5 BFG Mud-Terrains and Teraflex 3T...

I also score a 835 or 865 on a 20 degree RTI Ramp! Approach and departure angles I have not found out yet, but they will be soon, but from looking at the pictures, they have definitely increased!
I must say the factory Gooidyear GSA tires are really not meant for off-roading, city and gravel driving would be my best bet. Having gone with a Jeep Jamboree with these tires I wish I had some knobby tires to get through some muddy sections, but they did ok...well, they sucked. So when I finally wore my Good years out I was looking at some new tires. BFGoodrich Mud-Terrains and new Goodyear MTR were my choices, both had great design and the treads were deep & great for mud. So I had them priced out BFG's were $190.00 (incl taxes, balance & mounted), while the Goodyear's $280.00 (incl taxes, balance & mounted). YIKES, the price of the Goodyear's were shocking...so BFG's were my logical choice.
Final verdict, the BFG Mud-Terrains are GREAT, on the highway they are not very noisy, but a slight hum is noticed. In the city they are good as well, a very streetable tire as BFG says! Traction is great on mud and the treads clear very good.
